I come from a line of hairy women. As a child, I remember my mother shaving her facial hair, though I never imagined that later in life I would be inducted into what I refer to as the “Hairy Women’s Hall of Fame” as one of the millions who would carry with them the most embarrassing personal secret. The secret that I refer to as “a hairy little secret.”
In 2001, I graduated from the Electrology Institute of New England in Tewksbury, MA, and immediately began practicing my new profession in Shelton, CT, where I am presently located. I started small and now have a thriving business, which caters mainly to women. I have come to know and provide my services to women of all ages, colors, and ethnicities, and have grown in this profession with them.
I am like my clients. We all share an internal shame that has led some of us to low self-esteem and poor self-image. I personally began my fight with “the hair” using depilatory creams. I then graduated to bleaching creams, and from time-to-time, visited a local salon for a waxing and plucking here and there. I ended up shaving for the last five years of my war against the “hairy chin chin.”
In 2000, as I was finishing up my own personal electrolysis hair removal treatment, my curiosity about this line of work was sparked. The woman who became my mentor was lovely, professional, and generous; she provided me with all of the information that I needed to start my new journey of self-fulfillment and service to women who were enslaved to tweezers, waxes, and hair creams to become liberated from their own “hairy little secret.”
While treating each of my clients, one-by-one I started to more clearly see what a difference I was making in the lives of these women, and a number of them have become my friends.
Being in business for nearly a decade and a half now, I find myself in great health, enjoying life and all that it has to offer. I learn great lessons as I meet all of the wonderful and unique clients that I treat. Women that have visited my office inspire me in my own personal life – household CEOs, engineers, vice presidents, directors, nannies, registered nurses, university professors, teens, the girl next door, and others; you name them, and I’ve had the privilege of providing a much needed service, and have learned so much in the process.
I am the mother of one son, who has blessed me with four beautiful grandsons. Each of them is unique and incredible in his own way. Life lessons in self-love, self-learning, motherhood, and marriage have brought me to the most fabulous time of my life. Each of these lessons has left incredible strokes of love painted all over my life, which reflect in the mirror of my face. “Our face is our mirror.”
I am a member of the Valley Chamber of Commerce, and belong to the American Electrology Association and the Connecticut State Electrology Association. I also hold membership with the Women’s Business Development Center, and I belong to a women’s networking group called Powerful You.
I endeavor each day to live consciously, savoring life as much as possible, and giving my best to the world. I pray in order to get through difficult times. I laugh, play, and dance when I’m happy. I highly recommend this formula for living.
I cherish each and everyone of my clients, and I look forward to meeting you. If you have any questions about electrolysis and permanent hair removal, please don't hesitate to reach out!
